Do PDF Forms Still Work After Compression?

A compressed PDF may open normally while its interactive fields behave differently in a particular viewer or portal. Keep the original form, compress a copy, and test representative text fields, checkboxes, dropdowns, calculations, and save behavior. If the form is a controlled submission or signature workflow, follow the issuer's instructions and use the original when the compressed copy is not explicitly acceptable.

Test the fields the recipient actually needs

Forms can contain widgets, scripts, calculations, appearances, and permissions that are not obvious from a page preview.
