Do not assume PDF links survive every processing path unchanged. After compression, download the result and test external links, internal page links, email links, and any visible URL that a reader may need. Reopen the saved file in the recipient's likely viewer. If a critical link fails, return to the original and use a lighter or approved workflow.
Test link types, not just the page preview
A link can look like ordinary text while its interactive annotation is missing or points to an old destination.
